Trans Visibility Day

To set the “Trans Visibility Day”, celebrated on the 29th of January, the city proposes a series of activities against bias to transvestites and transsexuals.

Campus Party is considered the world’s largest technological innovation, internet and network electronic entertainment event. With five days of lectures, debates and workshops, geeks, nerds, entrepreneurs, gamers, scientists and other creative individuals usually camp at the site so as not to lose a minute even of the activities on innovation, science, culture and digital entertainment.

Carnival – Samba schools Parade

São Paulo Carnival is one of the largest in Brazil. The city carries out with creativity and beauty one of the most important cultural manifestations of the Brazilian people. There are five evenings of parades and about 110,000 voices in the bleachers.

The event, which happens twice a year in the city, presents for the next seasons the new trends and collections of internationally renowned fashion designers.

 

Everything is Real – International Documentary Film Festival

The festival, which already had 18 editions, is dedicated exclusively to non-fictional production in Latin America.

 

Drags’ Soccer – Blue Space

The event formed part of the program of celebrations of the anniversary of the discotheque, Blue Space. In a friendly, entertaining and cool game, what is not missing is glamour. There is a judge with luxurious costume and a player wearing high heel shoes.

São Paulo Lesbian and Bisexual Walk

The walk, one of the events that precede the LGBT (Gay) Parade, has as objective the fight against sexual discrimination, violence, bias and invisibility of lesbians and bisexuals.

 

LGBT Cultural Fair

In the month of diversity, diverse musical and theatrical attractions, performances, drag queen shows and DJs are presented in this fair directed toward the gay public.

New Year’s Eve

To toast to the coming of the year, a huge open air party occurs in the region of Avenida Paulista gathering together thousands of people to accompany free shows of famous Brazilian bands. At midnight, a magnificent show of fireworks lights the city’s skies.

Aside from all the attractions of the city. São Paulo receives about 90,000 events a year, many of them dedicated to the LGBT public, like the LGBT (Gay) Pride Paradade, considered as one of the largest in the world, which, aside from fighting against homophobia, attracts gays, sympathizers and curious individuals in an entertaining excitement in the midst of Avenida Paulista. The event is accompanied by the LGBT (Gay) Pride Month (which happens in May or June, varying in accordance with the Corpus Christi holiday) and offers fairs, debates and events like São Paulo Lesbian and Bisexual Walk. In other months, the city even has the Diversity Mix Festival, Film Festival, and the Drag Soccer Championship, among others.

 

Festivals and large parties also shake the São Paulo calendar. For the party goers, the Skol Sensation, in spite that it is not an exclusively gay event, attracts whoever enjoys electronic music and proposes to live different experiences in a modern, innovative and all white ambience. Art lovers also have a lot of fun through the city. The largest Broadway shows get off at the metropolis and there are diverse events in São Paulo for movie lovers and appreciators of the seventh art. The International Film Festival in São Paulo takes place in two week of October and offers about 300 world contemporary films. There are even events that are reference to the universe of
architecture, art and fashion, like Casa Cor, Bienal de Arquitetura, Bienal de Arte and São Paulo Fashion Week, the largest fashion week of Latin America, which occurs twice a year in the city, in March and September. The event is world reference and dictates the fashion an trends of succeeding seasons and gathers together great fashion designers for launching of their collections.
